Why is a title required?

I have this compelling urge to whine because Patrick got a MacBook Air.  *pout, pout*  I tell ya, those young boys with no responsibilities.  They can just buy the world, can't they?!  :P

I have never wanted a Mac before, but there is just something about those Air thingies that I just have to have.  Why do they have to cost so much!?  And when are you going to strike it rich, Patrick?!  (Yes, I know - it won't be long - that boy is just way too amazing with his little program thingies that I can't even begin to understand and he has to explain in way more detail than he's probably ever had to explain such things - and the amazing thing is that he can actually explain so I understand!) (Speaking of understanding, that was quite a sentence, wasn't it!? :D)

I had the strangest dream about Granden last night.  Strange.  And very realistic - one of those dreams where you wake up and wonder where you are and what's going on.  You know I can't remember what it was about now, but at the time I woke up, I just laid there for a few minutes trying to decide if that really happened.  Of course of my three or four readers out there, only about one of you might remember Granden.  He's totally disappeared...

I'm not quite sure what made me dream of Granden.  Maybe he's one of the crazy Canadians that stalk - I mean keep track of - me?  Nah.  He's crazy, but not that crazy.  :D  I got an e-mail from him a few weeks ago - it was one of those long questionnaire things that you're supposed to add your own answers to.  Of course I didn't answer it, but as I was reading through his answers, I got to the part about his wife.  WIFE?!  What wife!?  I haven't talked to him for a long, long time, but that was a shocking revelation.  So I sent him an e-mail saying that things must be going alright if he's got a wife now.  He responded in the rambling way that only he's capable of that he'd forgotten to change the answer to that question - the person before him was the one who was married.  I had such a great laugh at that.  He is just the best person to talk to - he says it like it is and just throws it all out there.  Everyone should be more like him.  :)

I love having friends that I can actually talk about...

I bought this book the other day at the half price bookstore in Indy - it's called 'The Elegant Universe' - and when we were checking out, the cashier looked at Tim and said, "Oh, I've been wanting to read this!"  (Let me clarify here that this is a book about physics - specifically 'Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory.')  Tim looked at her and said something completely ridiculous - like, "Oh, not me" - which, of course, I knew he meant that it was my book, not his.  But I think it totally burst her bubble.  She didn't even acknowledge me.  I guess she was only interested in men who love physics.  I don't think I laughed out loud...but, knowing me, I probably did...  :D

I went with my mom and her friend to Shipshewana yesterday.  Nothing like travelling with a couple of elderly ladies.  :D  I kept calling them old ladies - it was pretty funny.  To me, at least.  :D  It was actually a nice day.  I don't like crowds and I don't like flea markets (too many darn fleas!), but because we've had such crappy weather lately (except yesterday was perfect!) there really weren't too many people there.  Still plenty of freaks to watch.  But not so many people that you couldn't get through or look at the stuff or all that.  It was a nice day.  Plus we ate at the Essenhaus TWICE, so that was totally worth it for me.  :D

And here is my sunburned chest.  Thrilling, I know.  But it hurts this evening, so that makes it worth sharing.  I'm still not quite sure how I got sunburned on a mild spring day...it must have something to do with being in the sun all day...hmm...

*Naked*

So I have the next several days off work and wouldn't you know it's freaking cold and rainy out there?!  Ugh.  I'm gonna have to take up drinking to pass the time.  Lala?  Can you hook me up?!  :D  Oh well.  It'll be nice to be away from work for a while.  I do love being in paradise, but sometimes it's nice to leave it all behind and step into some other fantasy land.

Hunter's outside shivering, but he doesn't want to come in.  We bribed him with food, but once it was gone he just sat in his cage and whined until Tim let him out.  Poor puppy.  Timothy is going stir-crazy by not being able to go out and shoot baskets.  And I'm just sleeeeeeepy.

We went to Qdoba.  Of course.  But doesn't this look great?!  It's a naked chicken queso burrito.  I said NAKED.  :D

Naked_Burrito.jpg

One of the guys (but not the Cilantro Boy - he hasn't been there lately when we've been there - bummer - I'm going to have to start stalking him to be able to see him enough...) gave me some cilantro (he asked how we were doing and I replied by saying, "Did you say you were going to get me some cilantro?" and he did! :D) and I was just so excited I had to take pictures...

Hooray_for_Cilantro.jpg

...and wouldn't you know the manager walks out right about then.  "What are you doing?" he asked me like I was the strangest thing he'd ever seen.  :D  And then he came over to the table and started singing some Lyle Lovett song about 'she's not a woman, she's my wife.'  I think it was an insult, but you know me, I just laughed.  And Tim started it anyway by saying something about putting up with me and my craziness for the last 13 years (to which I reminded him it's been LONGER than 13 years!) and then Manager Boy started in...  Men.

When we left, they all waved to us and said bye - and the manager said, "See you tomorrow!"  I laughed and told him maybe the next day.  But I really could eat there every day.  :D  And it's not just about the boys.  =)

This Just In

It's been a rather historic day in Indiana.  A record number of voters swamped the polls, patiently waiting to cast their votes for either the first woman or the first black man in America's history to become president, and Hilary Clinton had a slight lead over Barack Obama all day in the highly contested Democratic primary.  But!  In a last minute amazing twist of steel, Optimus Prime swooped in and seized the presidential nomination right out from under the both of them.  Hooray for Optimus Prime - by far the best candidate for the job!

(Timothy's shirt today says OPTIMUS PRIME FOR PRESIDENT, hence the silly story and picture...)  :D

Nothing's Ever Easy

One last antibiotic pill to take in the morning.  I haven't taken ANY of my other medicine all weekend.  Bladder, pituitary gland thing, allergies, narcotics ( :D ), Benadryl to help me sleep, nothing.  I can't keep not taking some of these things, so I'm glad the antibiotic will be over tomorrow.  I think that's what has prevented me from having that d*mn headache all weekend.  That was so horrible - it was like a migraine times 10.  Really.  It was that bad.  I decided I'd do ANYTHING to try to keep it from coming back.  Of course I have no idea if it was really medicine/antibiotic related, but it was worth the chance and it has seemed to help.  That's one thing that's went right this weekend.

What started out as a simple project for Tim to change the door turned into an ALL day long ordeal.  Ripping out the old door and replacing wood and packing cement and putting the new door in and trying to get it to fit right and on and on and on.  And he's still not done.  The door is in and it's locked, but if we get a good rain tonight, Edward (who's keeping watch over the door this evening) is going to be washed away.  (Poor Edward spent the day in the garage in the dog's cage because he wouldn't stay away from Tim while he was working and wouldn't stop trying to sneak outside through the gaping hole in the wall.)  The last time he changed the door, it wasn't this hard.  But something happened (did we have another earthquake a year ago or so?!) and that little corner of the house shifted so it's not exactly straight anymore.  Not that it ever was to begin with with the bozos who added on this part of the house (before we owned it).  Nothing's ever easy.  *sigh*

It was a beautiful day, however.  My mom, Timothy, and I took a walk at both Christy Woods and Minnetrista.  The huge pink buckeye tree in Christy Woods is blooming.  I just love those flowers.  I should've thought ahead and uploaded one of the pics.  Instead it's a pretty pink zinnia against the blue blue sky.  The pink dogwood is blooming, too.  And there were still lots of tulips at Minnetrista.  And the wisteria!  I was afraid I'd missed the last of spring with being out of commission these last two weeks.  It was refreshing to see that not everything is done blooming.  AND!  It's almost time for the poppies.  Yay!  :)

There are new pics in Leslie's section.  Go look.  It's worth the extra minute to have a little chuckle.  :D

Day One

Woo-Hoo!  I've went for a whole day without a headache.  The sensation is still kind of there off and on, but it has not hurt today.  Rather impressive.  And about time!

I took Timo to get a haircut today.  The boy really hasn't had a "haircut" for YEARS.  We've been having it shaved since he was 4, if not before that.  He looks really nice with it all shaped up.  Hooray for LaLa!!  :-)

Timothy_Haircut.jpg

You just have to love the look on Timo's face.  I think he was a bit freaked out with the whole scissors and trimming around his ears thing.  Scissors?!  You're cutting my hair with scissors!?  :D

We spent way too much money today on odds and ends.  But I got new glasses, which I've needed for at least a year now.  And I bought this teeny tiny micro SD card for my new ORANGE cell phone.  I've never seen such a little thing.  Really.  ;-)  But we did finally get a new screen door so Tim can finally change the side door that's needed changing since last summer and for which the new door has been sitting in the garage for probably 8 months now.  (That's a sentence, isn't it?!  And I'll bet it only makes sense to me.  :D)  (We needed a new screen door to put up with the new regular door - no point changing the regular door if there isn't a screen door there to protect it from the elements and add an extra bit of insulation.  Better!?)  (I really shouldn't write when I'm dog tired...)

And we have got to get out for a walk tomorrow.  I've missed pretty much two weeks of spring with this darn not feeling well bit.  TWO WEEKS.  I can't stand it.  *sigh*

Big Tim Turns...OLD

Today is Tim's birthday.  I couldn't remember how old he was going to be last night - I told Jamilouwho something totally wacky - which you know was a big insult to Tim.  Oops.  :D  Of course, in honor of the big day today, I've had one freaking killer headache.  It still hurts.  It started hurting about 3:30 this morning so badly that IT WOKE ME UP.  I couldn't even get out of bed to go to work this morning.

This is the third time I've been up all day - I'm only up now because my mommy is getting me something to eat.  :D  I've sneezed a million times today, too - just when I think the pain is getting better, wham!  It comes back full force thanks to a sneeze.  I'm sick of sinus/allergy crap.  Literally!  But I don't think the headache is tied to that - it's off to the side where it normally hurts when I have a bad headache.  It's not a sinus headache.  Ugh.

Edward has slept with me all day.  And when I try to pet him he thanks me by biting me really super hard.  Darn cat.  And I've reached the point where I don't know whether or not to take any more pain medicine - sometimes I think that just backfires and makes everything worse.  This is the second stinking migraine I've had in the last month and the light is really hurting my eyes right now.  It's such a gorgeous day outside and I'm stuck in bed.  *sigh*

Itchy's Better Than B*tchy

I thought I was feeling better and then today I have been so stinking itchy.  Itchy eyes, itchy ears, itchy nose, itchy mouth, itchy throat, itchy everything it seems.  And here I am with a killer headache.  *sigh*

My head started hurting so badly at work today that I had to leave.  I just had to lay down and close my eyes.  I carefully drove home.  Parked my car at the end of the driveway so Timothy could play basketball.  Walked up to the house.  "Aww, sh*t."  It hit me then what was wrong with this seemingly perfect plan to kill the evil headache.  No one else was home.  I don't have a house key at the moment.  And I had to pee really, really bad.  Headache.  Pee.  No key.  Bad, bad combination.

Luckily for me, I have the bestest husband in the whole wide world.  I'll let y'all assume he came to my rescue by coming home and unlocking the door for me.  But one of you out there knows the true story.  I shouldn't dare repeat that, though, should I?!  :D  It all worked out ok, that's the important thing.  I got to pee before I was in too much pain.  And I ended up sleeping until 6:00.  6:00!

Since then, Timothy and I have been sitting on the couch, watching Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium for the second night in a row, and eating spaghetti, chicken nuggets (he only shared one with me and hogged the rest for himself), Speed Racer fruit snacks, and Cracker Jack.  And I've eaten a handful of peanut M&M's.  PIGLETS!  Don't you wish you were here with us?!!?  :D

And I just sneezed, which made my head hurts just as bad as earlier and I can't even see straight to write anymore.  I'm tired of having sinus/allergy problems.  Ugh.

Air Head

For two days in a row now, I've been feeling really lousy.  Well, I guess I felt really lousy on Sunday, too.  So that makes three days.  But the last two have been really weird - like I'm either going to pass out or throw up, but it's not my stomach - it's in my head.  It's all in my head.  Go ahead and laugh at that.  :D  I don't know if it's sinus/allergy or something I've been eating or what.  My mom thinks it might be my blood pressure.  I slept for two solid hours this afternoon, which of course means I had to leave work early because I was feeling so ... strange.  I've been having a lot of eye strain and headaches lately, too - maybe it all goes together.  And the top two culprits (that I can think of) would be blood pressure or blood sugar.  I've never had a blood sugar problem before, so...ugh.  Of course there's the whole pituitary thing that freaks me out anyway and I think it's been a while since I've had any bloodwork - that's always the first thing that pops into my head when my, well, my head! is bothering me.  *sigh*

It's 4/20

And I think Edward's been hitting the Mary Jane a bit too hard today.  :D  The cat never hisses - and he's been hissing and batting at some imaginary foe.  Which of course gives me the creeps because I don't see anything.  And he NEVER hisses.  How strange.

Maybe his nerves are just shot.  A little bit ago, Timothy decided to have a bit of evening entertainment.  He went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, opened the cabinets where his little kiddie cups are, and CRASH!  Several (ceramic, porcelain, whatever dishes are made out of) dishes came crashing down right in front of him.  They shattered into a million pieces all around him.  On the counter, on the floor, everywhere it seemed.  I was shocked - like "what were those dishes even doing in that cabinet?!" kind of shocked.  And Timothy thought it was his fault.

He jumped back with this look of terror on his face.  "All I did was open the cabinet."  Really, that is all he did.  I was standing right there talking to him about brushing his teeth and getting in bed.  And he just opened the cabinet to get a cup.  I had to comfort him and assure him that it was alright - you're not in trouble; it was just an accident; I'm glad they didn't hit you and watch where you're walking to get away from the mess.

I have no idea what those dishes were doing in that cabinet.  We've had them for many years - probably even longer than we've had Timothy.  We had them out last Thursday when we made dinner for Tim's parents.  They came out of the other side of the cabinet - a totally different door - a side that has room for those (and many more) dishes.  Y'all know I don't do dishes, so after they were piled all dirty-n-icky in the sink, I have no idea what happened.  It's a mystery.  I'm just glad they didn't crash down in the middle of the night.  We all would've been scared to death.  And Tim would've stumbled out there in his bare feet to see what all the commotion was about...yikes!

Tax Day Cometh

I finally got around to doing our taxes today.  Well.  That initial run-through.  There's nothing final about it yet.  And I haven't even touched the state taxes.  We owe $160.  That sucks.  Tim told me to try that online free turbo tax thing, so I did - and that said we owe $1200!!!  Good grief, that's totally wrong.  I hope.  We're not going with it, that's for sure.  I already had to borrow the $160 off my mom to get in the mail by Tuesday.  I'm not going to go back and say, "Oops, make that $1200."  I hate taxes.  And I especially hate owing every freaking year.  Ugh.

This is where I want to live
